Can Reiki intensify symptoms?

Occasionally people experience a temporary aggravation or intensification of symptoms during or after a Reiki session. This may be as simple as a momentary feeling of discomfort at the site of an old injury or surgical scar. Such an experience resolves quickly and may be part of the body’s process of healing.

A temporary aggravation of symptoms sometimes occurs when people suffering from chronic conditions elect to receive multiple (and perhaps longer than usual) Reiki sessions in quick succession.

In this scenario, the person initially feels better-a general improvement in wellbeing and/or relief from specific symptoms-followed by a transient period in which the recipient either feels very tired and/or the symptoms return. Traditionally, this is seen as a positive response that indicates that the body’s healing mechanisms have been stimulated and the body is actively engaged in a healing process. A hallmark of this process is that the client is not anxious about the return of symptoms, but intuits that this is simply the body doing what it needs to do.

Continuing Reiki through this period brings comfort, reduces symptoms, and speeds the return of wellbeing. However, if there is any doubt, it is important to seek out whatever medical advice or health care is deemed appropriate.

Your intention is key

Before your Distant Reiki session state your intention to receive the healing energy being sent your way. That is all you need to do. Forget concepts of time according to the clock, your timezone in the world, and your current physical location. Just trust that whatever you need, is coming to you right now, at the perfect time for you.

If you are new to Reiki, begin your Distant Reiki session with an open mind. If you lay there thinking, “When’s it gonna start?”; “I don’t feel anything?” or, “Is this stuff for real?” then you are not allowing or in the best frame of mind to relax and enjoy the best experience. Reiki energy is Universal Life Force Energy. It is only positive and can never harm. The energy you will receive does not come from the Reiki Master, but rather through them, emanating from Source.
It’s okay to wonder what it might be like if you’ve never experienced it before, but it’s impossible to tell you beforehand what and how you will experience your Reiki session. As everyone is individual, experiences are also very individual. Reiki has its own intelligence and always works for the recipient’s Highest Good, no matter what they physically feel during the session. Whatever happens, happens and it is right and perfect for you at that moment in time.

Distant Reiki

Distance Reiki is a technique within the Reiki system that enables you to give a Reiki session beyond the limitations of time and space. It expands the practitioner’s ability to transmit spiritual energy beyond physical touch.

In other words, it’s a way to offer Reiki without the recipient being in the same room with you.

Distance Reiki can be just as effective as experiencing one in person – the Reiki energy “works” regardless of where you are located since it transcends time and physical space. Having a session in the comfort of your own home can often times be more relaxing than spending time driving to get to the float centre!

How does Reiki work

Today we are going to talk about Reiki and what it can do for us!

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation and healing technique that allows the body to relax in such a way it begins to heal itself.

The body is an intelligent being and it has everything it needs to heal and release what needs to be released. We are emotional, physical, spiritual, mental beings and we spend a lot of time working on the physical, but forget about the other energy bodies we have, so Reiki will relax your body in such a way it starts to remove blocks that may be in the body.

What are blocks and how do blocks come about?

Blocks happen through emotional traumas that may happen such as the loss of a loved one, having a break up, losing a job etc.
Those heavy thicker energies don’t just pass through us the way love and light and peace does, they get stuck in our physical body and when you play something over and over again like a trauma that’s happened in your life, you may ask why does this keep coming up or why do I keep playing this? It’s because the energy is still there.

Reiki allows the body to relax in a way that it starts to release these areas of trauma. Now we know and science knows that emotional stress in the body will cause physical ailments such as if you have a stressful job, you may start to carry that stress in your physical body and have symptoms such as neck ache, backache, headaches etc.
When we relaxed and start to apply Reiki to our live we start to heal these areas, healing the physical, the mental, the emotional and the spiritual body.

All things are infused with energy. It is that energy within that helps the body to repair and replace aspects of itself as needed. So we need to connect with the energy, grow it, expand it and let it heal us.
